What is the difference between a furnace and a central heating boiler?

Furnace and boiler are terms that are very often used interchangeably. However, this is a mistake, as it turns out that they are not the same.

What is a stove?

A stove is an appliance that heats locally. This means that the furnace is also a source of heat that is emitted into the immediate environment in which it is located. Heating is done by radiation and convection.

Central heating furnace is a misnomer, as this device does not emit heat further. During the process of burning fuel, heat is produced, which is then gradually released into the room in which it is set. An example of a stove can be a fireplace, which, with the heat it generates, is only able to heat the room in which it is located. An undoubted advantage of stoves is their original and unique design so they can be not only a source of heat, but also a stylish decoration. They usually have a large heating surface, so the process of releasing heat is gradual, and the perceived temperature is very pleasant. However, it is important to keep in mind that the production of heat in the case of a stove takes place unevenly. This means that some parts of the room may be better heated than others. Also, the temperature cannot be regulated, which makes it an inefficient way of heating that will not work in the long run.

When using a stove, you also need to keep in mind safety rules so that you don't accidentally start a fire, which can result in a fire.

What is a central heating boiler?

The central heating boiler is very often referred to as the heart of the entire heating system. This is not surprising, since it is the one that produces the heat, which is then distributed throughout the house. It is the one that sends the heat via the heating medium, which is usually water, to the system. This in turn goes to the radiators that emit heat. Thus, it does not store heat, as is the case with a furnace, but gives it right back to the system. As a result, you can enjoy a pleasant temperature in the interiors soon after starting the boiler. It is therefore an indispensable component of any central heating system.

So the main difference that makes boiler and stove are not the same is the method of heating. The boiler makes it possible to provide heat to any room to which the system is connected. A stove only works locally. The boiler is also definitely more economical. Modern boilers use less fuel, emit less harmful substances, making them environmentally friendly. High-quality units, which are now available for sale, provide high thermal comfort. Modern models are equipped with fuel feeders, so you don't have to do it yourself. A system of thermostats allows you to set the optimal temperature. As a result, there is pleasant thermal comfort in the rooms.
